Durga Saptashati Path
The seven hundred verses of the Devi Mahatmya, read during Navratri with a closing havan.
About this Ritual
Durga Saptashati — also called the Devi Mahatmya or Chandi Path — is seven hundred verses across thirteen chapters, read during Navratri and particularly on Ashtami and Navami. A full path in one sitting is long, so families more often have it read across the nine nights, or have a single chapter read on the day that matters to them. Both are possible; say which you want in the notes and the timing will be set accordingly. The recitation closes with a havan and a kanya pujan where young girls of the household are worshipped and fed. Arrange for them in advance if you would like that included.
