Cancellation & Refund Policy
How to change your date, how to cancel, and how refunds work.
Last updated 29 August 2026
Plans change, and dates for a ceremony are often set by other people. This policy is meant to be reasonable about that.
One thing worth knowing before you read the rest: no payment is taken when you book. If you cancel a booking you have not yet paid for, there is nothing to refund and nothing to claim back — telling us is the whole process.
1.Rescheduling
Rescheduling is free, and we would always rather move a booking than lose it.
Tell us at least 24 hours before the booked time and we will move you to any slot that is available, at no charge. Inside 24 hours we will still do our best, but the pandit may already have arranged his day around your address.
To reschedule, call or message us with your booking reference. It cannot be done from the website yet — the new slot has to work for the pandit’s travel as well as for you, so it is worth a short conversation.
2.Cancelling
You can cancel at any time, and what happens next depends only on whether you have paid.
Nothing is charged when you book, so in most cases there is simply nothing to refund — just tell us, so the slot goes back to someone else.
If you have paid and cancel more than 24 hours before the booked time, you receive a full refund of everything paid. Within 24 hours we refund what we reasonably can; where samagri has already been bought for your ceremony, that cost is not recoverable and is deducted.
If we cancel for any reason, you get everything back in full, with no deduction and no exception.
3.If we cancel
If we cancel for any reason — the pandit is unwell, we cannot cover your date, anything at all — you get a full refund of everything you have paid, and we will help you find another date if you want one. There is no deduction and no exception to this.
The same applies if we substitute a different pandit and you would rather not go ahead on that basis.
4.How refunds are paid
Refunds go back the way the money came. A card or UPI payment is refunded to the same card or UPI account through Razorpay — we cannot send it anywhere else, and that restriction protects you as much as us. A cash payment is refunded in cash or by bank transfer, as you prefer.
Once we start a refund, Razorpay and your bank ordinarily take five to seven working days to put the money back. That part is outside our control. If it has been longer than that, tell us and we will chase it with your payment reference.
5.What is not refundable
To be straightforward about the few exceptions:
- A ceremony that has been performed. Once the pandit has attended and completed the ritual, the dakshina is not refundable.
- Samagri already purchased for your specific ceremony, where you cancel at short notice.
- A booking where nobody was present at the address and we could not reach you.
6.If something went wrong
This is separate from cancelling, and it matters more to us.
If the pandit did not arrive, arrived unreasonably late, or the ceremony was not performed properly, that is our failure and not a cancellation. Tell us and we will either perform the ceremony again at a time that suits you, or refund you in full — your choice, not ours. Please raise it within seven days of the booking while everyone still remembers the detail.
7.How to cancel or ask for a refund
Call or message us with your booking reference. Refunds are arranged personally rather than through the website — there is no self-service refund button, and we would rather say so than have you hunt for one that does not exist.
